The Faculty of Textile Engineering (FTE) was founded in 1960 as the second faculty of the Liberec college. It is the only academic workplace in the Czech Republic that focus on science, research and education in the field of textile technology.
The FTE is the largest faculty of its kind in central Europe and comprises all branches and specialized disciplines related to textiles.
The Nonwovens department in the FTE is now established as a multidisciplinary research centre engaged in product development, technology and knowledge transfer in the field of textiles.
As part of product development and application of natural fibre Jute, FTE is organising this International conference along with JMDC.

Jute Manufactures Development Council (JMDC), a Government of India Statutory Body under Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India has been established to provide the development of production of jute manufactures by increasing the efficiency and productivity in the jute industry through promoting scientific and industrial research. JMDC carry out technical promotion of jute geotextile, along with other jute diversified products and has thus acquired, inter alia, specialized knowledge, know-how and technical and other information on geotextile related engineering and for conducting National/International Symposium-cum-Exhibition on Jute.
